Aetna should tell all about its own finances on doctor fee site
LETTER — Posted Oct. 3, 2005
Regarding "Aetna shows HSA patients what doctors charge" (Article, Sept. 12): I just learned of Aetna's program to publish online the negotiated fees of physicians in Cincinnati. I would urge the AMA to support this effort only if Aetna is willing to publish other pieces of information on the same Web site: the salaries of all of their top corporate executives (CEO, etc.) and the local executives in each city that they publish MD fees, plus annual profit reports and executive bonuses.
Let's see how much Aetna really cares about cutting costs and on whose backs.
Don't hold your breath.
