Hard to expect residents and fellows to pass on an offer of lunch
LETTER — Posted Feb. 13, 2006
Regarding "Buy your own lunch" (Article, Jan. 16): While I fully support the motives and ethics of No Free Lunch's founder Bob Goodman, MD, there is one group of physicians who will find it particularly difficult to say no to free lunches.
Residents and fellows in training are overworked, have little time for meals and earn a fraction of what others who support No Free Lunch earn. The cost of a $5 lunch on a daily basis over five to six years adds up!
