AMA earns award for national advertising campaign
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Feb. 27, 2006
The American Medical Association received an International Mobius Award in the Public Service category, earning first place for its "Hands" print campaign that was part of the AMA's initiative to stop Medicare physician payment cuts. The international advertising award recognizes a well-executed and unique creative concept.
"We are thrilled to be recognized with such an esteemed award," AMA Chief Marketing Officer Gary C. Epstein said in a statement. "The campaign helped educate Americans about impending Medicare cuts and their impact on senior citizens' access to health care."
The print campaign centered around four ads featuring stories of senior citizens and the impact Medicare cuts would have on them. The ads ran in newspapers such as the Arizona Republic, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Tennessean and Cedar Rapids Gazette.
