FDA launches drug safety publication
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Oct. 8, 2007
The Food and Drug Administration released the first issue of its Drug Safety Newsletter Sept. 18. The newsletter is to be published quarterly online (link) and is intended to provide physicians and others with the latest information on drug safety issues.
"We're launching this publication to help health care professionals make better decisions about the medicines they use in their practices and stimulate their reporting of adverse events," said Andrew von Eschenbach, MD, FDA commissioner.
The premiere issue includes a postmarketing report on rituximab and modafinil.
