CCHIT approves EHR systems
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Nov. 26, 2007
The Certification Commission for Healthcare IT announced that it had certified six electronic health records for use in acute care hospitals. These six systems represent a quarter of the inpatient vendor market.
Two additional systems were given premarket status, which means that they will get full certification after they have been used in a hospital.
In addition, nine products for office-based physicians were given certification, bringing the total of ambulatory systems that are certified to about 40%.
Names and details of the certified records are available on the CCHIT's certification Web site (link).
