AMA offers resources for "5010 standard" transition

The American Medical Association is offering tips and tools for physicians preparing for the January 2012 deadline to use updated standardized electronic transactions.
The new format, known as "5010," an update of the "4010," is required under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
Physicians and staff can find guides to adopting the new standard on an AMA Web site (link). Guidance includes a timeline that outlines steps to take over the next two years.
