Medicaid enrollment grows sharply

Medicaid enrollment increased by 3.3 million people between June 2008 and June 2009 to reach 46.9 million, according to a brief released Feb. 18 by the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured.
The 7.5% increase is the largest single-year percentage boost since 2002. Medicaid enrollment is expected to have kept growing since June 2009. The brief is available online (link).
