Health IT seen as hottest job field

Health information technology is listed as No. 1 in the annual "Hot Careers for College Graduates" report as one of 14 jobs that are good options for recent and mid-career college graduates.
The survey is published by the University of California San Diego Extension and is based on enrollment figures, national employment statistics and interviews with San Diego business executives. It is available online (link).
The report cites the government's push for use of electronic medical records as the driver for the demand for health IT professionals. Also making the list were jobs in clinical trial designs in oncology (ranked second), geriatric health care (No. 6) and health law (No. 14).
