PHA director stepping down
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Oct. 4, 2010
Molly Sandvig is resigning as executive director of the Physician Hospitals of America, based in Sioux Falls, S.D.
She will join Joint Replacement Hospitals of America, a Rancho Mirage, Calif.-based company, as its chief operating officer on Jan. 1, 2011.
Sandvig has lobbied on behalf of physician-owned hospitals for health care legislation changes, particularly targeting provisions in the new health system reform law that effectively ban new physician-owned hospitals from starting up and existing ones from expanding. PHA estimates that there are 265 U.S. physician-owned facilities.
At JRHA, Sandvig will be responsible for business development, physician relations and marketing functions.
