HIMSS launches CPOE wiki
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Nov. 29, 2010
The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society has launched a wiki for information on computerized physician-order entry systems.
The site was designed and launched by the HIMSS Enterprise CPOE Workgroup and is meant to provide guidance on meeting meaningful use requirements regarding CPOE. Wikis are open-source Web pages that can be updated, changed or edited by anyone.
At the wiki site, users can participate in discussions, share best practices and start new discussions. The wiki is organized by the various stages of implementation to help users find information easily. The stages are: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling, transitioning to operations, and optimization/maintenance. Information will be organized by topics, including success stories, federal policy information and CPOE adoption statistics (link).
