AMA practice improvement initiative gains traction
Posted April 16, 2012
Six physician practices have completed and gained certification for their success in a new Rapid Process Improvement program sponsored by the American Medical Association since fall 2011 (link).
Three Colorado physician practices are the latest to win certification. A Wellington, Colo., family practice cut patient waiting times and improved patient scheduling; and a Fort Collins, Colo., family practice improved patient satisfaction by rolling out an automated, trackable patient survey. An infectious disease practice in Colorado Springs improved its patient check-in and check-out process using its existing practice management system.
The program is available at no cost to any physician practice, and AMA members are eligible for one-on-one support for their projects.
