Prices paid for physician services reverse 2-month decline

The inflation rate for physician services was 0.2% in March, according to the monthly consumer price index released April 13 by the U.S. Dept. of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.
That was the first gain in price for physician services in 2012. The rate had declined 0.1% in January and 0.5% in February. However, the inflation rate for physician services continues to lag the overall inflation rate, which was 0.3% in March.
The inflation rate for physician services was 1.3% from March 2011 to March 2012, That is about half the overall annual inflation rate of 2.7% during that period.
