64th AMA Interim Meeting
About 500 delegates met to approve the policies that shape the AMA's advocacy agenda. Among those casting votes was cardiologist Thomas E. Sullivan, MD, a delegate for the Massachusetts Medical Society. Delegates adopted policies that offer ethical guidance for physicians using social media, spell out principles of accountable care organizations, make private contracting a priority for the AMA and protect young athletes who have had concussions.
