At the ThedaCare health system in Wisconsin’s Fox Valley, patient visits are streamlined to improve quality. After doing the bulk of his registration over the phone, check-in at the front desk takes little time for Jim DeBruin, a 79-year-old patient with diabetes visiting for a routine follow-up. Once he’s in a room, medical assistant Megan Gudex draws his blood.
