Medical school honors female scientist
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Feb. 9, 2004
Women have surpassed men in terms of the number applying to medical school, but until now they didn't have a medical school named after one of them. The Chicago Medical School at the Finch University of Health Sciences says it is the first to honor a female scientist in such a manner.
The Finch University/Chicago Medical School is now the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in honor of the woman who helped discover the structure of DNA.
