HCA grows in outpatient market
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Dec. 20, 2004
Hospital operator HCA Inc. says it will continue its efforts to expand in the outpatient services market.
In January, the company established an outpatient services group to oversee and improve its existing outpatient services and develop new opportunities. Since then, the group has developed new business, primarily in surgery and imaging, completing transactions for 11 centers in deals valued at nearly $24 million.
The Nashville, Tenn.-based company, which now operates 91 ambulatory surgery centers in 16 states, estimates that it will acquire or develop five to 10 surgery centers and 15 to 25 imaging centers in the next year.
