HealthSouth chair steps down
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Sept. 26, 2005
HealthSouth board chair Robert P. May is leaving his post Oct. 1 after leading the outpatient services giant through the wake of a massive accounting scandal. Board member Jon F. Hanson will be the new chair.
May was at the helm of the board during the company's recovery from a $2.7 billion accounting fraud that was first revealed in March 2003. May cited "increasing professional and personal opportunities and obligations" as his reason for leaving.
