Iasis gets subpoena
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Oct. 10, 2005
Iasis Healthcare has received a subpoena seeking information about its physician recruitment practices. The Franklin, Tenn.-based company, which operates 14 acute care hospitals, said on Sept. 19 that it was cooperating with the request from the Office of the Inspector General of the Dept. of Health and Human Services, and was "fully committed" to regulatory compliance.
The subpoena requested documents from the last six years related to contractual arrangements between physicians and the hospitals, including leases, medical directorships and recruitment agreements, Iasis said.
