Health software company files IPO

Picis Inc., Wakefield, Mass., has filed a statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of its common stock. The company, which sells software used by hospitals in their emergency departments, operating rooms, recovery rooms and intensive care units, is seeking to raise $86.3 million. It plans to use proceeds to repay debt and for general purposes.
