Key votes on abortion rights and stem cell research were victories for science and physician autonomy
LETTER — Posted Jan. 1, 2007
It was encouraging to see voters in the states of South Dakota and Missouri renounce the agenda of the Religious Right, champion science and endorse the autonomy of physicians.
The repeal of the atrocious ban on abortion in South Dakota and the defense of embryonic stem cell research in Missouri will hopefully serve as a reminder to those who seek to impose their religious ideas on the rest of the American population that they are not welcome in this nation.
