Kodak sells health care business unit
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Jan. 29, 2007
Eastman Kodak Co. announced Jan. 10 that it has agreed to sell Health Group division to a subsidiary of Onex Corp. for up to $2.55 billion. That takes Rochester, N.Y.-based Kodak out of the health care business.
Onex Healthcare Holdings Inc. has agreed to pay $2.35 billion for the Kodak health division.
Onex would pay an additional $200 million if the operator of emergency care facilities and diagnostic imaging clinics achieves certain returns on its investment.
The sale will enable Kodak to focus on consumer and professional imaging, and the graphic communications markets, the company said.
