Advisers sought for IMGs entering U.S.
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Jan. 29, 2007
The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates is looking for international medical graduate volunteers to advise J-1 visa applicants about relocating to the United States.
Volunteers would be listed in an online IMG Advisors Network , or IAN, database by name, medical specialty, U.S. graduate medical education program, location in the United States, country of origin, medical school and other demographics.
Approved J-1 visa applicants seeking advice would access the IAN database through the commission's Web site and search for individuals most likely to be helpful to them, such as an IMG in the same U.S. program or an individual from the same country or medical school.
Volunteers would receive the e-mail address of the J-1 visa applicants seeking advice and communicate directly with them.
