D.C. approves e-prescribing rules
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Feb. 5, 2007
The Washington, D.C., Board of Pharmacy has adopted new rules making electronic prescribing legal, leaving only two states that currently do not allow doctors to transmit electronic prescriptions from their office to a pharmacy.
Those states, Alaska and West Virginia, are working to address the issue, said Rob Cronin, a spokesman for SureScripts, which operates a national electronic prescribing network that links doctors and pharmacies.
