A break from this practice won't work without a vacation from expenses
LETTER — Posted Feb. 19, 2007
In your article "Doctor morale shaky as practice stressors surge" (Article, Jan. 15): A "physician executive coach" is reported to suggest that "doctors give themselves multiple vacations, both long and short, as a way to rejuvenate."
Not being an executive, I don't get any paid vacation.
Struggling to stay afloat in practice with no income unless I am seeing patients, I cannot afford to take "multiple vacations, both long and short."
Now, if anybody can suggest a way to get my fixed costs (salaries, lease payments, insurance) to take a vacation, that would be something.
