Spread the burden of paying for care

Regarding "Physician revenue tax draws heat in California universal care proposal" (Article, Jan. 29):
I read with interest your recent article on universal health care. I cannot understand the reasoning behind the tax on physicians and hospitals as a means to pay for this, especially since many hospitals are in such poor financial shape, along with many physician practices.
I think another, more secure source of funding should be used and propose a tax on architect's and attorney's income and on bank profits. I realize that this has no way of becoming reality but feel that it is time for other parts of society to bear some of the burden of caring for our population.
