Kodak sells imaging business
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted May 21, 2007
The Toronto-based investment firm Onex has acquired Eastman Kodak Co.'s Health Group in a $2.4 billion deal. The company, which has approximately 8,100 employees and generates $2.5 billion in annual sales, will operate under the name CareStream Health Inc.
The company primarily sells molecular imaging systems, medical and dental imaging, medical printers and x-ray film and will continue to use Kodak product names. Onex has said much will remain the same at the company, including management.
If CareStream achieves certain returns, Onex would pay Kodak an additional $200 million.
