Insurer gets into game development
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Oct. 8, 2007
Humana says it is exploring ways to encourage better health among its members through gaming.
The Louisville, Ky.-based insurer's new effort, Games for Health, will likely include a variety of types of games, from simple PC-based to 3-D, multiplayer console games, said Paul Puopolo, director for consumer experience at Humana.
Humana's 11.3 million members can expect to see games emerging by 2008, Puopolo said.
Development is aided by a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation award of $30,000 in prizes in its Games for Health contest.
