Microsoft acquires health company

Microsoft has agreed to acquire Global Health Care Solutions, a information systems provider based in Bangkok, Thailand, for an undisclosed amount.
Global Health Care solutions developed its system in conjunction with Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok. Bumrungrad treats more than 1.2 million patients per year from 190 countries.
The Global Health Care system manages the hospital's health records, work flow, billing and regulatory compliance in several languages.
Microsoft plans to work with the hospital to expand the system's functionalities and features and bring it to a larger international market. The system is already in use in seven hospitals in the Asia-Pacific region. Global Health Care employees will join Microsoft's Health Solutions Group.
