Medem adds partner

Clinical software developer MEDecision has partnered with Medem to provide its Patient Clinical Summaries to physicians and patients through Medem's iHealth services.

The Patient Clinical Summaries compile information provided by the insurers and makes it available on Medem's iHealth personal health records. The data can be viewed by both physicians and patients.

Medem CEO Edward Fotsch, MD, said the partnership is the first step in making the personal health records richer and more comprehensive. Up until the now the only data that were available in the records were the data entered by either the patient or the doctor. The PCS will including current and historical medical data from physicians, labs, pharmacies and others.

Medem's investors includes numerous medical societies, including the American Medical Association.
