Flu rates continue to climb

A robust level of flu activity continued in the United States during the week of Feb. 10 to Feb. 16, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Forty-nine states reported widespread activity. Florida reported regional activity, and the District of Columbia cited local activity.
The proportion of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza was above the epidemic threshold for the sixth consecutive week. Twelve influenza-associated pediatric deaths also were reported.
