Kaiser, Microsoft launch study

Kaiser Permanente and Microsoft, which both offer personal health records, have agreed to finance a study to investigate the value of them.
The study, conducted by the Center for Information Technology Leadership, a subsidiary of Boston-based health care system Partners HealthCare, will look at the impact of PHRs, their value and costs.
The center will also develop a framework for market readiness, adoption issues and penetration. The study is expected to be released by fall.
