Colorectal screening guidelines
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted April 7, 2008
New consensus screening guidelines have added virtual colonoscopy and stool DNA to tests previously endorsed for the early detection of cancer and precancerous polyps.
The guidelines, intended for colorectal cancer screening in asymptomatic adults older than 50, were developed by the American Cancer Society, the American College of Radiology and the U.S. Multi-Society Task Force on Colorectal Cancer.
