Kaiser rolls out EHR
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted May 26, 2008
Kaiser Permanente announced earlier this month it has completed the deployment of its outpatient electronic health record system.
The $4 billion system, called HealthConnect, links 8.7 million patients from nine states and Washington, D.C., to their health records. It is considered to be the largest privately funded EHR system in the world.
The organization is still completing its inpatient system, with 13 of its 36 hospitals connected.
That project is expected to be completed by 2010.
