Medicare plans see scrutiny in Illinois
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted June 2, 2008
Illinois insurance regulators are in the midst of investigating two health plans following hundreds of complaints from seniors.
Susan Hofer, spokeswoman for the Illinois Dept. of Financial and Professional Regulation Division of Insurance, declined to release the names of the plans under scrutiny or say when the market conduct studies are expected to be complete.
According to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, 21 companies market stand-alone Part D drug plans and 17 companies market Medicare Advantage plans in Illinois.
