Southwest has highest uninsured rate

The Southwest has the highest percentage of uninsured children and nonelderly adults -- 26.3%, according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report released June 25. The Northeast, at 8.9%, has the lowest. Among states, Oklahoma, at 28.2%, has the highest percentage of uninsured children and nonelderly adults, while Massachusetts and Hawaii tie for the lowest at 7.8%.
