Our society, not government, is key to achieving health care for all
LETTER — Posted Sept. 22, 2008
Regarding "Ethics panel may back universal coverage, ponders access as a 'moral imperative' " (Article, Aug. 4): I concur that universal health care is a moral obligation of a civil society.
I do not believe it is a right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. We do not need another entitlement program. Hopefully, if this issue can be viewed by the populace as a moral issue to be addressed, we can achieve health care for the entire United States population.
