Opinion
Two shortages, one poor solution
LETTER — Posted Sept. 22, 2008
Regarding "A test is in order for nurses who want to expand their scope of practice" (Letters, July 28): My nurse, an RN, mentioned to me last week she was encouraged to enroll in a course to become a doctor of nursing. She had received materials in the mail from a California nursing school.
What makes no sense is that we have been told for the last decade that we have a nursing shortage. Are we going to remedy the primary care shortage by diverting from a profession having the same problem?
