Ovarian cancer screening advances
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Oct. 13, 2008
Researchers have identified a possible genetic marker for the vascular cells associated with tumor growth, a finding that could aid in the diagnosis of ovarian cancer. The findings were presented Sept. 23 at the American Assn. for Cancer Research's Molecular Diagnostics in Cancer Therapeutic Development meeting.
Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania Ovarian Cancer Research Center found high levels of TEM1 correlated with decreased survival of ovarian cancer patients.
