Aetna, Microsoft collaborate on PHR portability effort
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Nov. 10, 2008
Aetna and Microsoft HealthVault have come together to offer portability to members' personal health records. Aetna members who have an Aetna CareEngine PHR can now transfer all of their data to Microsoft's HealthVault. The companies said this will allow members to take their medical records with them if they change jobs or insurers.
More than 6 million Aetna members have a PHR that is prepopulated with data from several sources, including physician offices, labs and pharmacies. Users can also enter their own data, such as allergies and family history.
