Video contest for students considering medical school
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted Oct. 26, 2009
The Assn. of American Medical Colleges has launched its second "AspiringDocs.org Video Contest," asking college students to explain, "What motivates you to increase diversity in medicine?"
Students who intend to apply to medical school are invited to shoot a short video, no longer than two minutes, explaining how they would deliver medical care to patients of differing ethnic and racial backgrounds. Contest deadline is Dec. 1; winners will be announced by Feb. 28, 2010.
Ten winners will each receive several AAMC publications, including The Official Guide to the MCAT Exam, plus $500 toward the cost of applying to medical school. Additional information and the entry form are available online (link).
