VA to use self-serve kiosks for mental health evaluations
NEWS IN BRIEF — Posted May 31, 2010
The Dept. of Veterans Affairs plans to develop Web-based kiosks that will be used for mental health patients to conduct self evaluations and assessments of their conditions.
Data collected from the systems would be transmitted to the VA's Vista EMR system, where it will be used to generate clinician notes for physicians treating the patients. The department plans to deploy the kiosk systems at VA facilities in west Los Angeles; Honolulu; Albany, N.Y.; and VA headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The VA posted a request for quotes from software vendors to develop the system on the Federal Business Opportunities Web site on May 14.
