Influenza is cropping up on a local or sporadic basis across the country.
"As always, influenza is unpredictable," said Julie Gerberding, MD, MPH, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention during a November briefing, "so we're not going to be able to say how fast it's going to evolve, where it will hit next ... [or] how serious it will be." The CDC and other public health agencies are encouraging flu vaccination efforts to continue in the weeks ahead.
