Doctors give their views on temporary work in rural areas.
Staffing firm LocumTenens.com surveyed physicians about their experiences with and attitudes about practicing in rural areas, defined as having a population of 50,000 or fewer. The company does at least 60% of its business in rural areas and is among many that say work-force shortages are more acute in smaller communities.
