An app is the wrong prescription for struggling patients
LETTER — Posted Jan. 7, 2013
Regarding “When the Rx is an app” (Article, Nov. 5, 2012): I find it hard to believe that you think we need an article on how to improve treatment compliance in patients with smartphones by presenting them with apps for the devices.
Most of my patients are lower- and middle-class people who can barely afford a heating pad, let alone a smartphone and all its attendant fees.
Please give physicians some advice on taking care of patients who have to decide between rent and prescriptions, and let the upper classes choose their apps for themselves.
